Representatives of canadian college at KazNAU

KazNAU authorities hosted the delegation of Lakeland College (Canada, province Alberta).

Traditionally the managerial personnel of the University met foreign visitors at the Small Rectorate Hall. Among the delegation were representatives of the Alberta province Aridzh Bashar and Director of the Department for International Cooperation of Lakeland College, Jeff Brown.

KazNAU rector, academician Tlektes Isabaevich Espolov in his welcoming speech thanked the guests for visit and noted the priorities of cooperation with a new partner.

Canadian side also informed about their interest in establishing and developing cooperation with KazNAU in agricultural education and research.

According to the Director of International Cooperation Department, Jeff Brown, Lakeland College with its history spanning 100 years, is one of three major colleges in Canada. During this time the college has won a reputation as a respected institution of higher education that offers high-quality vocational education.

- There are all conditions for the training of agrarian-professionals in our college - said Jeff Brown. - Canadian style of life, as it can be said, is also built around livestock. It has its own farms, where students are introduced to the skills of agriculture and animal husbandry. Six years ago we expanded the campus in order to have additional buildings and farms, where students work with modern agricultural machinery. They are offered for us by the company New Holland Equipment, with which we signed a contract for 10 million dollars.

In addition, in 2010 the College received a government grant of $ 2.3 million for research, and in 2013 Lakeland was named one of the top 50 research universities in Canada.

The meeting ended with the signing of a bilateral memorandum on cooperation.
